Custom Coating, Inc is locally owned and operated by Richard Allen. Since 1986, the company has specialized in non-chromate conversion coatings, and has expanded its manufacturing and office facility from 9,000 square feet with one coating line to over 64,000 square feet with multiple automated coating lines, processing millions of parts each month. CCI is ISO 9001, 2015 edition certified.
In-House Rack Fabrication CapabilityCCI’s fully-automated Lubrite 2 line applies Manganese Phosphate coatings to steel and cast iron parts. These anti-corrosive and anti-friction black coatings are applied to a variety of products such as clutch plates, gears, brackets, tubes, pins, and refrigeration pistons. With a high capacity for production jobs, and the ability to provide just-in-time delivery, we work to meet your needs. Our central location allows us to provide cost-effective service to North America.
A second chromium-free Bonderite (Alodine) 5200/2040 coating line for aluminum alloys was completed in 2016, expanding our capacity. This coating is an environmentally friendly alternative to chromate conversion coatings for automotive, aerospace, military and commercial applications. This coating is EU ELV and RoHS compliant.
2016 Shipping & Receiving Expansion
CCI’s in-house laboratory support includes a PE flame-atomic absorption spectrometer and x-ray fluorescence spectrograph, stereo microscope, an analytical balance scale, and a state-of-the art environmental testing chamber for humidity and salt-spray testing. CCI also has a nine-station heated pilot line to provide customers with experimental or specialized process requirements.

A proud member of the local Chamber of Commerce and BBB, CCI also actively supports and sponsors community organizations such as the Humane Shelter, 4-H, Junior Achievement, youth sporting programs, local and state police, sheriff and fire departments. The company also supports the high school and community bands, Kiwanis, and Elks charities, and donates to the local Cancer Society, Special Olympics, and the area museums.
