The manganese phosphate process was developed to improve the quality and longevity of the coated part. The application produces a coating that improves new component break-in and resists excessive friction, corrosion, and surface wear. The coating has excellent adherence to steel and iron surfaces, and obtains its properties, in part, by being oil-absorptive in nature.
